Tangible Personal Property Tax Report (Date Due: April 1)
Florida Statute 193.052 requires that all tangible personal property be reported each year to the Property Appraiser’s Office. Anyone in possession of assets on Jan. 1 who has a proprietorship, partnership, corporation or is a self-employed agent or contractor must file each year. Property owners who lease, loan or rent property must also file. All assets used in a business or rental activity physically located in Florida, are considered tangible personal property. More specifically, furniture, fixtures, tools, machinery, household appliances, equipment, signs, leasehold improvements, supplies, leased equipment and anything else used to generate income. Lee County Tax Collectors Business Tax Application
County Business Tax Receipt (Formerly Occupational License)
Required for all areas in unincorporated Lee County. If the business is located in one of the municipalities, a county business tax receipt must be obtained after the issuance of a municipal business tax receipt, and a copy of the receipt must be provided. County Certificate of Use
If your business is located anywhere other than your home, you are required to get a Certificate of Use for all areas in unincorporated Lee County. The municipalities have other certificates of use requirements and procedures. This certificate is issued concurrently with the County Business Tax Receipt.
