The Horizon Council Presidents’ Circle members met Feb. 4 at The Hertz Corp. Global Headquarters in Estero for an exclusive event. More than 100 influential business and community leaders were welcomed with a catered cocktail reception held in the beautiful lobby of the newly opened corporate offices. After the reception, attendees gathered in Hertz’s brightly decorated café where Denis Noah, President of the Horizon Foundation, welcomed the group.
The event featured keynote speaker, Tom Sabatino, Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel for the Hertz Corp. He addressed the audience about Hertz’s experience moving and operating in Lee County. Since its relocation in 2013, Hertz has produced more than 450 new jobs in Lee County and almost 700 in Southwest Florida, injecting more than $77 million in capital investment into the community. Construction on the new headquarters was completed in October 2015, giving many attendees the first opportunity to get a look at the state-of-the-art facility. At the conclusion of the evening, group tours were conducted by several Hertz executives including a look at their restaurant-quality café, which doubles as their town hall space, fitness center, conference rooms and open work spaces.
