Commercial Corridor Revitalization Task Force Update
North Fort Myers Market Based Assessment
Formerly known as the Commercial Corridor Revitalization Steering Committee, this group was promoted to a Task Force earlier this year to tackle the development challenges in North Fort Myers, the MLK Corridor and Lehigh Acres. Its mission is to provide a forum to discuss ways to revitalize areas of Lee County that have lagged the ongoing economic recovery. Each committee has identified ways to promote commercial activity and is working toward accomplishing the goals and strategies outlined in the work plans they developed.
In concert with this effort, Lee County has hired a consultant to conduct a market-based assessment for commercial and mixed use development in North Fort Myers. Lee County has hired DCG Corplan Consulting, LLC to conduct the study. The Consultants will identify market opportunities and constraints to development that may be mitigated by a change in County policy or other actions. The Consultants will propose land uses, policies, programs and/or actions that will help the area by enhancing property values, and the overall productivity and function of the area.
The committee is chaired by Regions Bank President Dan Eveloff. To become a member of one of the subcommittees, email Rachel Busch, [email protected].
