Industry Appreciation
To salute excellence in Southwest Florida's business community, the
Horizon Council is seeking nominations for their annual, Industry
Appreciation Awards that will be given in September of this year. The
Horizon Council celebration is part of a statewide celebration of Industry
Appreciation Week, September 14-18, 2009.
The Horizon Council Industry Appreciation Awards are an opportunity to
celebrate the business community of Lee County and to recognize a number of
outstanding local companies that have positively impacted Southwest Florida.
Businesses are invited to nominate their own company or submit an
application for another Lee County company to be recognized. Nominations
must be received by April 27, 2009. Nomination forms can be downloaded at
www.LeeCountyBusiness.com or can be obtained by calling (239) 338-3161. To
be eligible nominees must be for profit companies located in Lee County.
Winners will be awarded in four categories to include: Information
Technology, General Business, Manufacturing and Tourism. This past year the
following companies were recognized: WilsonMiller, Inc., General Business;
Entech Computer Services, Information Technology; Marine Concepts,
Manufacturing; Stilwell Enterprises, Tourism. Special recognition was also
given to 21st Century Oncology for their expansion locally and Tigris
Pharmaceuticals received the New Business Award. Tom Hoolihan was also
recognized for the Horizon Council Lifetime Achievement Award.
More than 800 people are expected to attend the Industry Appreciation
celebration on September 18, 2009. The Industry Appreciation Award winners
will be recognized at the luncheon and through various advertising and
